Stitchcraft: Art is Magic
Wednesday, November 6, 7-9 pm
Join Sarah Gzemski of Gzem Shop Embroidery for an introductory class in needlecraft. All materials will be provided. $40. Tickets available soon.
Embroidery is a meditative craft involving deep intention and focus, but getting started on something new can be intimidating. In this class, students will learn hands-on how to create eight basic stitches and tips to create designs and textures of their own. Each participant will leave with a kit including needle, thread, pattern-stamped fabric, and a six-inch embroidery hoop: everything needed to complete their first project.
I believe that art and magic are closely related and that domestic crafts are largely devalued due to our patriarchal society. There are so many ways that embroidery has brought intention and focus to my life that I want to share with others. On a practical note, with so many winter holidays approaching, you just might learn you have a passion for needlework and be able to gift something intentional and handmade this season.
Note: Workshop and event tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to make an event, please email us directly. If there is a waitlist, we may be able to transfer the spot to them with at least 48 hours notice and offer you a refund. You are also able to sell or gift your workshop or event ticket to someone else, but please let us know so we know who to expect!
